To kick off State of Origin 1 for 2022, The Spark engaged TMC to create an adrenaline filled, forced perspective opening animation, for projection onto the floor of Stadium Australia (Accor Stadium). Our solution was to peel back the surface of the stadium to reveal an underground bunker where titanic robots and pistons toiled away, creating massive NRL moments. The scene was supported by animations developed for the perimeter signage, and the Great Southern Screen (GSS) – a newly installed digital sign which extends along the length of the stadium’s southern end. We also created a series of forced perspective ‘holograms’, one for each player, which supported the player profile announcements on the GSS.
